NDJ – Harold Camping, who predicted three times the world would come to an end during his lifetime has died. He was 91.
Camping made his first earth’s dooms prediction for September 7 1994. The next day the sun stood high in the sky and the “dooms prophet” quickly changed the original dooms date to May 21 2011.
Thousands of people believed Camping’s prediction and went as far as to sell everything they owned. Posters of the ‘last day on earth’ were seen hanging everywhere.
But May 21 2011 came and went without much ado. Camping then said that October 21 2011 was most definitely the day earth’s existence would end. But when on that day earth continued to flourish as it had in the past, Harold Camping gave up predicting more dooms days for our planet.
Camping, who was one of the founders of ‘Family Radio’, used the Christian venue to spread his predictions and put the fear in thousands of believers world wide.
That same radio station reported Camping’s passing on Sunday, saying the elderly took a fall in his home in November and never quite recovered from his injuries.
