LONDON – Scotland Yard stated they have been able to identify 3 main suspects directly connected to the disappearance of British girl Madeleine McCann.
Data gathered from telephone conversations reveals that at the time Madeleine (Maddie) disappeared in Portugal in May 2007, a gang of burglars was active in the neighborhood where Maddie was vacationing with her brother and parents.
The Daily Mail reports that in the hours immediately after Madeleine disappeared, there was unusually high telecommunication between gang members.
Although Scotland Yard is still stipulating the circumstances surrounding Maddie’s disappearance, they believe that burglars entered the residents where Maddie was sleeping. When she woke up they panicked and decided to take her with them.
Madeleine McCann was 3 years old when she vanished from the vacation apartment in May 2007 in Praia da Luz Portugal. The Portuguese legal system closed the file on the child’s disappearance about one year later because they had no suspects.
Maddie’s parents were at first suspected to be involved in the disappearance of their child but were later cleared.
Scotland Yard decided to reopen the Maddie case last year by going on the air and sharing all the information it has about the case and asking the public for help.
Since then, the UK police department has been inundated with tips and possible sight-seeings of Maddie.
